We’re building a family farm.

And one day, from that farm, we hope to build something a little bigger — Barefoot Outpost.

      A café.     A farm-to-table kitchen.     A farm store.     A gathering place.

A little piece of Old Florida where people can slow down, share a meal, meet their neighbors, buy something grown or made nearby, and feel like they belong.

But before any of that can happen, the farm has to come first.

And that’s where you come in.

     THE OLD-FASHIONED             BARN RAISING

There was a time when if a family needed a barn, they didn't hire somebody to come build it for them, the whole community was invited to participate to make it happen.

Folks would be invited –– and the neighbors came.

 One brought lumber.
    One brought tools.
       Someone brought supper;
          Another brought dessert.

   Everybody brought what they could.

And together, they accomplished in a day what one family might have struggled to accomplish in a year.

That was the spirit of the old-fashioned barn raising.

That's the spirit behind Let’s Build a Farm.

We don't expect one person to build this whole thing.

We're asking you to help us raise it — one prayer, one board, one nail, one post, one piece at a time.

You don't have to build the whole thing.

Just help us raise a piece of it.

 BUT FIRST, THE FARM

Before there is a café, there has to be a farm.

Before there is a farm-to-table dinner, there has to be something growing in the ground.

Before there is a gathering place, there has to be a place worth gathering.

An it all begins with the work of building the farm:

• Clearing the Land
• Water & Electric
• Fencing and pasture
• Barns and shelters
• Livestock
• Irrigation and water systems
• Gardens and orchards
• Farm equipment
• Working spaces
• Seasonal crops
• Farm-grown products

And as the farm grows, Barefoot Outpost will grow from it.

Our hope is to eventually create a place to facilitate our culture with a café, farm-to-table restaurant, farm store, gathering spaces, seasonal events, farm dinners, community gatherings, heritage folk and social dances, and opportunities to experience the work of Florida-born farmers, makers, and artisans.

 A place where you can come for coffee and stay for supper.

     A place where you can bring your family.

         A place where neighbors become friends.

             A place that feels more like coming home than going out.
